About

About

Ever since Galloway decided to help in her school’s middle school musical when she was 11 years old, her passion for production has been aflame ever since. Throughout middle and high school, Galloway participated in numerous theater productions. These productions included The Little Mermaid, James and the Giant Peach, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. During her time there, she made herself familiar with all the responsibilities of the theater. This gave her knowledge in areas such as lighting, pit technology, and stage direction, along with her focus in audio.

Galloway also participated in an internship for a freelance light and sound company that showed Galloway the ins and outs of live sound setup and teardown. During this internship, she learned how to properly wrap cables, build equipment stages, lights, speakers, and projectors, and solder and make multiple types of audio cables, such as XLRs. She got to learn and apply these skills at corporate events, colleges, and even major music venues such as The Agora in Cleveland.

In her academic career as an Audio Recording major, Galloway worked with both live and post-production audio, gaining a solid understanding of what it takes to create compelling sound in broadcast and studio environments. Since she has been an A1 for ESPN broadcasts, she’s ensured that crowd noise, announcers, and on-court action are perfectly balanced at all times. The pressure of real-time audio adjustments taught her to stay calm while maintaining high-quality standards.

Galloway is also a student worker for concerts at Kent. She is a part of a group of audio engineers that is responsible for the photography, videography, lighting, building, setting up, running, and tearing down stages and sound systems for all live concerts, shows, and events. She has learned how to be a reliable part of a team as a primary person for stage, photography, and audio.

As Galloway began to fall in love with the television production scene, she found opportunities for involvement in the student-run television studio. From there, she learned every position, such as CG (Computer Graphics), VTR operator, Technical Director, and camera operator. She had production positions on the weekly news, a special election show, an 18-hour charity livestream, a bi-weekly live band entertainment show, and a mini documentary. She will also be an associate producer on a sports entertainment show called Sportscorner, where she will learn how to write her own scripts and structure a show.

These combined experiences have made Galloway the person she is today. She continues to love the soundboard and all of the aspects of production. Being creative, learning, and helping others get involved is the part that Galloway has loved most about all of her jobs throughout her career.
